I am a predoctoral researcher at the Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA), working on the Horizon 2020 ELECTROmonoLITH project. My current research focuses on developing advanced monolith electrodes for the selective electrochemical separation and recovery of lithium from complex waste streams, aiming to create energy-efficient solutions for critical raw material recovery.
I hold an M.Sc. in Hydro Science and Engineering from Technische Universität Dresden, where I developed a strong foundation in environmental engineering, water quality, and advanced recycling technologies. My master’s thesis at the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology involved developing an efficient recycling process for Lithium-ion batteries using ion exchange techniques and strategic organic acid use for selective lithium extraction.
As a Research Associate Intern at HZDR in Germany, I gained valuable hands-on experience in wet chemical analysis, flotation experiments, and ion-exchange technology. I also performed detailed resin characterization and worked on lithium recovery from process water. Throughout my master’s, I was honored with the Deutschlandstipendium (German National Scholarship) for two consecutive years, recognizing both my academic excellence and contributions to the community.
With a deep passion for environmental sustainability and circular economy solutions, I am committed to applying my expertise to address complex environmental challenges through innovative and impactful research. My goal is to create lasting, positive changes in the field of environmental engineering, ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable world for future generations.
